Reading Around

reading around

Organised by the Centre for Fine Print Research at the University of the West of England, Bristol;

Reading Around…

“To celebrate the National Year of Reading and World Book in 2008 we invited artists to make contributions to Reading Around… on World Book Day (06/03/08) and send them to us by the end of March.

Artists responded to the call with pages of artwork, audio recordings and video files which have been collated into the Reading Around website archive for you to enjoy.

The works submitted range from pieces inspired by or referencing novels to thoughts about reading, acts of reading, and mail art reading pieces.

We have 60 artists’ pages for viewing or download, some short movies and audio pieces about reading / books and a free download PDF e-book, which you can print out and make up into your own book.”

Bookmarks IV – Another Venue, Continued…

As posted below, the exhibition at Crockatt and Powell, which was organised by Jolanta Jagiello, is now running. Jolanta and staff at the bookshop chose the books to put each of the bookmarks into, and sent UWE some pics of them with the post-it notes on of which book each one was going into. The pictures are now up on the UWE Bookarts website for you to see which book each bookmark went into, so have a look at:
